What is Astrology ?
Astrology is as old as our civilization. It is the science of the correspondences between human beings and the Sky. It refers particularly to the Sun, the Moon, and the other planets of the Solar system, as observed at a given moment and from a certain place on Earth.
Therefore, Astrology requires calculations that enable to draw a chart for any event, for instance the birth of a child: this is called the Natal chart.
However, Astrology goes far beyond the physical description of the Sky: its principle nature is based on the interpretation of the celestial configurations that are constantly moving.
The other dimension of astrology relates to the person: it gives us information about ourselves, our personality, our life, our desires and inadequacies, without attachment to any teaching, without judgment, always attempting to get as close as possible to the very essence of who/what we are.
Astrology should not be mistaken for clairvoyance.
Clairvoyance corresponds to a more or less reliable psychic gift that requires no theoretical knowledge. On the contrary, Astrology is a traditional science that demands many years of study, reflection and experience. It is based on the interpretation of objective data: the celestial configurations and the motions of the stars.
More than ever, the astrologer has his proper place in society as he fulfills a quite specific function :
restoring points of reference and giving meaning to life, without attempting to influence or to convert anyone. It is a very simple language since it has only a few dozen symbols, and yet it is infinitely complex since there cannot be two identical birth charts. That is why astrology enables to really know who we are and define our place on Earth. For some people, it may also open up a philosophic or spiritual path.
The 12 Signs of the Zodiac
Seen from the Earth, the Zodiac is the part of the sky in which the stars of the Solar system move: the Sun, the Moon and the 8 planets (including Pluto). Since Antiquity, the Zodiac has been divided in 12 signs: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, etc. A star has been assigned to each sign, according to it’s affinities. For instance, Mars has been associated with Aries.
For a better understanding of their meanings, here are the 12 Zodiac signs with their associated star and 5 key-words to define them. In this way, a sign does not really refer to a person, but rather to a set of notions characterizing a person or a situation.

Origins of Astrology
Since the beginning of time, Man has been interrogating the Sky to find answers… At all times and in every culture, he has observed the movement of the stars and attempted to give meaning to it. The language that arose from this silent dialogue between Man and the Sky is Astrology. The astrologer is the one who, after long and in-depth studies, interprets the signs of the Sky to make sense of them.
